Amsterdam welcomes you!

Dear Colleagues,

It is our great pleasure to announce that the 13th International Coeliac Disease Symposium will be held in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, from April 6 – 8, 2009.

The symposium will feature a scientific programme that will address contemporary issues and the latest scientific developments in coeliac disease. Distinguished speakers and experts will be invited to present topics of both global and regional interest, and delegates will be able to exchange their experiences and opinions. The Amsterdam symposium will certainly provide you with an opportunity to acquire information on cutting-edge scientific developments, to make new friends, and to renew old acquaintances.

We are well aware of the success of the two concurrent programmes organized in the past. We will also arrange two programmes, an International Symposium and a Clinical Forum, to target specific audiences.

The International Symposium will be primarily for scientists and physicians working in the field of coeliac disease. The programme will provide a comprehensive update on the latest scientific and clinical developments.

The Clinical Forum is intended for patients, coeliac societies, dieticians, nurse practitioners, nurses, physician assistants and others in the healthcare arena who wish to enhance their knowledge about coeliac disease. The focus will be on the translation of scientific achievements into practical solutions for patients and healthcare workers.

This will be the first time the International Coeliac Disease Symposium will take place in Amsterdam. The unique venues are located on the banks of the River IJ. The International Symposium will take place in the Muziekgebouw aan ‘t IJ, Amsterdam’s new music centre on the waterfront, while the Clinical Forum will be held next door in the Moevenpick Hotel Amsterdam. Amsterdam’s central railway station and the historic city centre are within walking distance or a short tram ride away.

We cordially invite you to attend this meeting and to benefit from the extensive scientific and clinical programmes. Come and experience the historical, cultural and culinary delights of Amsterdam. We are sure you will have a memorable stay. On behalf of the organizing committee,

Prof.dr. Frits Koning, LUMC, Leiden

Prof.dr. Chris Mulder, VUMC, Amsterdam
